On behalf of the Old Barney Amateur Radio Club (OBARC), we would like you to come out to an open house meeting and special program featuring K2TQN. As a bonus to the evening, meet the new ARRL Section Manager George Strayline - N3GZ. George will have handouts and answer questions you may have about amateur radio and the ARRL. Meet and get to know the specific focus amateur radio organizations in our area including Ocean County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES), 835 User Group, South Jersey DX Assn, and the Battleship New Jersey- NJ2BB. Soda, coffee, pizza, subs, and snacks will be available.
OBARC was organized in 1975 as the only "general purpose" amateur radio club in the Southern Ocean County area. We are an ARRL Affiliated Club and currently have nearly 110 members. OBARC is an on-the-go club. It puts on one of the finest Field Day operations in SNJ, complete with a daylong picnic and consistently ranks high in national scores. OBARC sponsors special event stations, and participates in public events and fundraisers. We have a new and exciting web site under construction and have several social events for club members. Think there is no Amateur Radio activity in our area? Our membership is both dynamic and diverse. Through the SJDXA our members participle and effectively compete with world class contest operators. Get the inside word on QSLing and DXexpeditions from our members who travel the world. Regardless of your skills you can operate and learn something new and different.
Come see what is happening in Amateur Radio. Regular meetings are held on the first Tuesday every month at 7:30 PM with programs, socializing and sharing our amateur radio experiences among a wide variety of expertise. Coffee and snacks provided. Dues are only $25/year (Family, Student and Senior discount $20). Visitors are ALWAYS welcome!
Please come join us for this very special evening!
